Exclusive Clip from Killswitch Engage’s Beyond the Flames: Home Video Volume II — Moving On After Howard Jones
In 2005, when MetalSucks ’twas but a twinkle in our collective eye, we sat in Axl’s apartment, refreshments in hand, and rocked/nerded out to (Set This) World Ablaze, Killswitch Engage‘s first-ever DVD. Needless to say, the gnarly live footage and intimate behind-the-scenes documentary only increased our love and respect for these Massachusetts masters of metalcore.
So you can probably guess how excited we were when KsE released a NEW two-disc Blu-ray and CD package, Beyond the Flames: Home Video Vol. II, on Black Friday. We haven’t been this excited about a sequel since Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch. And Beyond the Flames is even better than that was (which, we’re sure we don’t need to tell you, is no minor compliment)! It’s got more than three-and-a-half hours of content. This includes some sweet, sweet live footage — so you can have a Killswitch mosh fest in your living room anytime you please — and an in-depth seventy-five-minute documentary chronicling the departure and return of original vocalist Jesse Leach. The doc was produced and directed by the great Denise Korycki (Cannibal Corpse, As I Lay Dying), so you know it’s good stuff.
But don’t just take our word for it — check out an exclusive clip below and see for yourself! It features the band discussing their decision to move forward after parting ways with Howard Jones, who replaced Leach in 2003, right as the band was starting to really take off. You can also watch the Beyond the Flames trailer at the bottom of this very post.
Then, once you’ve sampled the goods and tasted how delicious they are, order Beyond the Flames: Home Video Vol. II on Killswitch Engage’s webstore. You’ll be so glad you did!
