Depressing Dokken Reunion Footage

The reunited Dokken begins a tour of Japan tomorrow, but they played a warm-up show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota this past Friday, September 30. Why Sioux Falls, South Dakota? No idea. I guess they wanted to prepare for playing in front of a crowd that can’t speak English.

ANYWAY, footage of that warm-up show has now surfaced online, and… oy. As many of us predicted, Don Dokken himself seems to be the band’s biggest problem — he’s completely lethargic, and his vocals are now officially worse than those of Jeff Pilson. But George Lynch’s performance is also soporific. Maybe it’s just because it was their first show back together, but I doubt it — appearing heavily sedated has been Don Dokken’s M.O. for years. Regardless, these videos made me go from being jealous of Japanese Dokken fans to feeling 100% okay with missing this reunion in no time flat.
