Wait, Deafheaven? Inter Arma? But, but those are hipster metal bands! Granted, Deafheaven were recently joined onstage by Randy Blythe, and Inter Arma’s new album slays, but still, they’re all thoughtful and nuanced and shit? How could such hardcore death metal crushers like Carcass go on the road with a bunch of dudes who don’t wear camo shorts? Could the kings of anatomical gore be open to more than one genre of metal?
