Revocation Streaming New Album Great is our Sin in Full!
We’ve been hearing individual tracks from Revocation’s upcoming album Great is our Sin for a couple of months already, but at last the tease is over: Brooklyn Vegan is streaming the whole dang thing right now.
In his official MetalSucks review of the album, Max Frank had this to say about the Boston prog-death-trashers’ latest offering:
… you know you’re in good hands with Revocation. They’re not gonna slop down a melodic chorus or cheesy breakdown; when they attempt a songwriting trope, they execute. It’s truly a breath of fresh air to hear a band crush such standardized approaches to heavy metal songwriting, as opposed to bands who try (and fail) to “subvert” those tropes, but lack either the aesthetic or technical capacity to pull them off.
On Great Is Our Sin, this band is truly finding their footing with extended range riffs that’s in a completely different class than their peers.
He also gave the album a very stellar 4.5 out of 5 horns rating.
So now’s your chance to judge for yourself: how does Revocation’s sixth album stack up against the rest of their work, and how does it compare to the metal canon at large?
Listen below via Brooklyn Vegan, and check out an interview there with guitarist/vocalist Dave Davidson as well.
Pre-order Great is our Sin here; it comes out Friday, July 22nd.
