You Can Now Stream Gojira’s New Track, “The Shooting Star”
If you haven’t enjoyed Gojira’s new tracks, I don’t know what to tell you. Those two songs, “Stranded” and “Silvera”, are some of the best metal I’ve heard this year. The new album, Magma, looks to be utterly phenomenal.
But if you have enjoyed them, you’ll be happy to know that a third new song is available to stream right now! The track, “The Shooting Star,” premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show With Daniel P Carter. You can listen to it here, with the song starting at about the 1:37:36 mark.
As a song, “The Shooting Star” is definitely more low-key and mid-paced than the other two tracks we’ve heard thus far. It’s a slow-burning marcher, with some real heavy spaciness being showcased here, mainly due to Joe Duplantier’s clean vocals on the main verse parts. That said, it’s also very much in the Gojira vein, and has a lot of cool creepy atmosphere going for it. It might just take a few more listens to get into and fully absorb than “Silvera” did.
Anyway, stream “The Shooting Star” here. Magma comes out this Friday via Roadrunner, but you can pre-order it here. You can hear Joe Duplantier talk the new album and his work ethic on the MetalSucks podcast, and catch the band live on tour at one of the dates listed here.
