Meshuggah Announce New Album and Tour Dates for Fall 2016!
No longer need we freak out over a measly photo of a microphone or 25 seconds of video of amplifiers making noise. The threat is real: Meshuggah have announced they’ll definitely be releasing new music this year, and with a tour to boot. The Internet is about to lose its shit.
Meshuggah made the announcement via their Facebook page early this morning and included a 0:16 video clip, about 10 seconds of which is new music, and a tour poster:
Meshuggah’s 2012 album Koloss proved that the Swedes who invented an entire sub-genre of metal were absolutely not out of gas; in a time when the market was FLOODED with copycats, they changed up — and one-upped — the game, making everyone else look silly in the process? Will they be able to do so again? I know it’s crazy to make assumptions based on ten seconds of music, but it sounds like it’s certainly possible.
