Exclusive Track + Video Premiere: “Another Wasteland” by ÆGES
Oh, what we wouldn’t for a hundred bands like ÆGES (pronounced “ages”)! They simply do not make acts like this Los Angeles quartet anymore. The combined forces of guitarists/vocalists Kemble Walters and Cory Clark, drummer Mike Land, and bassist Tony Baumeister make for music that’s moody, melodious, and instantly memorable. Their new single, “Another Wasteland,” is the kind of song that feels at once completely new and comfortably familiar; it is as though, despite having never heard it before, the song has always existed for you somewhere deep down in your soul.
So, needless to say, when offered the chance to premiere “Another Wasteland” via its trippy music video, MetalSucks jumped at the chance!
Says Walters of the song and clip:
“‘Another Wasteland’ was one of the first songs we worked on when writing for this record. It distinctly showcases the sonic differences between the vocal styles of [guitarist/vocalist] Cory Clark, and seamlessly melds the fluid-yet-odd way that the four of us sit together in a track. The video was shot by Ed Davis and edited by myself. It kinda reminds me of the scene in Willy Wonka where they’re rowing through the tunnel and all the crazy images are flashing before them — it’s super intense. It’s dark, dreamy, full of anxiety, and heavy, which is exactly what we like. I think it rules (the song and the video), but hey, I’m in the band, so what do I know?”
