Cough Leave You “Dead Among the Roses”

For those of you who might not know or remember them, Cough are a killer doom band from Richmond whose 2010 album, Ritual Abuse, was massively impressive, and had one of the coolest covers out there when it dropped (and to this day, now that I’m looking at it — damn, what a cool cover).

Cough have returned six years later, and they’re streaming a new track called “Dead Among the Roses” online. The song itself is pretty standard stoner doom fare, but Parker Chandler’s sneering vocals set it apart from all the bands out there just trying to be Sabbath all over again. Fans of Electric Wizard and Yob will find a lot to like here, and it speaks well of the band’s upcoming new record.
