Help Rustin Luther, Owner of Dallas Metal Club and Bassist of Urizen, Pay for Medical Expenses for Inoperable Brain Tumor

Any time a member of the metal community is ailing, I’m always shocked at how quickly not only friends and family, but complete strangers, rally in support of one of our own. I shouldn’t be too surprised, since metalheads are a tight bunch who are incredibly devoted to one another, but I’m still always so happy to see just how effective this method of fundraising can be.

SO: Rustin Luther, a name that might not be familiar to many of you, but one that’s well-known around Texas and to anyone who’s ever played at or worked with the well-known Dallas club Tomcats West (or heard his band Urizen), is in a really shitty situation: he has an inoperable brain tumor, and it is going to take his life. The only good news is that, with treatment, Rustin will still be able to live a normal life “for as long as his condition can be managed.”

The medical costs associated with his treatment for staggering, so his family and friends have asked for help with those costs via a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser has already collected nearly $15,000 in a little over a day since it was launched, which is really fucking impressive: let’s keep it going! Donate if you can.
