Fallujah’s New Video for “Abandon” is Recklessly Gorgeous
Music videos don’t have the budgets they used to. In his recent guest appearance on the MetalSucks Podcast, Filter frontman Richard Patrick revealed that the band’s label spent a whopping $900,000 on a video in the band’s heyday, an insanely insane sum by today’s standards. Shit, most bands would consider themselves lucky to get 1/100th of that amount for a video!
But budget is not indicative of quality, and Fallujah’s latest for “Abandon” is proof. There’s nothing fancy here — it was likely shot in some kind of nondescript place like a warehouse, studio or rehearsal space — but the use of creative camera angles, lighting and a fogger makes the clip look gorgeous. Credit goes to Robert Graves, who has directed clips for The Black Dahlia Murder and Abysmal Dawn, among others, in the past.
Dreamless comes out on April 29; pre-order it here. Check out previously released album tracks “Scar Queen” and “The Void Alone.”
