Rob Zombie’s New Video Has a Wholesome Message for Today’s Youth
I remember writing up Rob Zombie’s last album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, for a year-end list, and I mentioned that is seemed like the dude was doing all the right drugs. My editor then made me add that Zombie was actually sober, despite the record’s absurd psychedelic qualities. I couldn’t believe it — Him, sober?
Well, Rob Zombie just released the video for his new song, “In The Age Of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High,” and I continue to find his sobriety hard to believe. I mean, there’s the title, there’s Rob’s outfit, there’s Rob’s stellar dance moves, oh, and, lest I forget, there’s the five foot tall flashing sign that says ‘GET HIGH’ around which the band is playing. How am I not supposed to immediately think that Rob takes five hits of acid and watches The House on Haunted Hill every single night of the week?
Oh, the song? It’s a Rob Zombie song. It’s monster-oriented jock jam biker rock. If you like that, well, enjoy.
