Video: Machine Head’s Robb Flynn Responds to Phil Anselmo Racism Accusations

Original Post: Yesterday, I said that speaking out against Phil Anselmo’s racist remarks was especially difficult for people in the industry; to that end, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn deserves MAJOR props for making this video condemning Anselmo’s action. He’s by far the most prominent musician I’ve seen comment on the situation so far, and I can only imagine the shit he’ll take for this.
You should really just watch the video. But I wanna share these tidbits in case for some reason you do not:
- Flynn was at Dimebash last week when Anselmo gave the Nazi salute, and he says that Anselmo couldn’t have been, as the singer claims, making a joke about drinking white wine backstage… because there was no white wine backstage. I guess only white whine.
- Anselmo told Flynn that he “hated the n*gger era of Machine Head.” What insightful criticism, eh?
