New England Metal and Hardcore Fest Lives?

The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival has been running for 17 straight years. It’s an institution, an event metalheads in the Northeast look forward to every winter both as the symbolic arrival of spring and a damn fun time. So, with no announcement yet regarding the April festival — and founder/organizer Scott Lee having moved out west — it’s no wonder that fans have been wondering if the festival may have finally run its course.

Put those rumors right the fuck to bed, because last week Killswitch Engage announced an April 16th show in Worcester, MA plugging the event on both their Bandsintown and Twitter accounts. Both posts have since been deleted, but that’s probably just an indication that the festival doesn’t quite have all its ducks in a row yet. Thankfully Metal Injection grabbed a screen shot:

Killswitch, of course, are from Massachusetts, and they’ve played NEMHF several times. We’re not sure when details for this year’s fest will be officially announced, but we’re super happy this excellent tradition will continue. The festival’s official website should be a good resource for updates.
