Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe Opens Up About Struggles with Depression, Suicide Attempts
The You Rock Foundation has a mission that MetalSucks can fully get behind: to serve as a safe haven for those who have suffered or are currently suffering from depression and/or suicidal thoughts. Using music as a backdrop, You Rock seeks to pull those suffering out of the dark and show them the possibilities of moving forward with life.
Last year we posted a video starring Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, in which the singer spoke about his struggles as a teenager, depression, and an attempt at suicide. The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman released a video as well tackling many of the same topics.
Earlier this week, Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe became the latest metal star to share his struggles with suicide and depression in candid detail for The You Rock Foundation. Check out the two-part video series below. As usual, Randy holds nothing back, and he’s got an incredibly articulate, measured way of speaking that only serves to help his stories connect.
