Slayer Will Tour with Testament and Carcass in 2016
A leaked tour date — March 3 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — has alerted the world to an early 2016 trek with Slayer, Testament, and Carcass.
Which is obviously a great bill, especially for senior citizens like me. I do wonder if the general public will be into it or not, though. I mean, these three bands on one ticket seems like a no-brainer, but if people weren’t willing to come out for Slayer with King Diamond, will Testament and Carcass really prove to be more appealing? It’s not as though people are over King Diamond — his pre- and post-Mayhem solo tours were both a massive success. Granted, this tour with player smaller venues than Mayhem Fest did… but the difference in ticket price will probably be minimal. So what really makes this different from Mayhem? That it’s not outdoors in the summer heat? That 0% of the profits will benefit Hellyeah? Are those factors enough to get people through the door?
Hopefully, I am, as per usual, being overly cynical, and this tour does swell. And if it doesn’t, well, hopefully we get some entertaining drama out of it anyway.
We’ll let you know as soon as dates are announced.
