Deafheaven and Power Trip Will Join Lamb of God and Anthrax on 2016 North American Tour
Well, this is pretty neat: after Lamb of God announced a tour with Anthrax last week, it was heavily rumored that Deafheaven and Power trip would be the other two acts on that tour, two fine additions indeed if only the rumors ended up being true. And hey, look at that! Now those rumors have become reality! Huzzah!
The hold up, presumably, had to do with Deafheaven’s just-ended tour with Envy and Tribulation. But now that that’s over with, the world can finally learn about this most excellent lineup.
And what a great lineup it is. It’s got a big a bonafide headliner, a classic band that’s still relevant and has a new album coming out, and two up-and-comers — in different sub-genres — that have made quite a name for themselves in a relatively short amount of time. It’s quite diverse musically, and it reminds me of the bills we used to see more often 5, 10, 15 years ago that had a little something for everyone — not the same, genre-specific tours we get so many of these days.
