Original Post:
Consequence of Sound is reporting that terrorists are holding 100 people hostage at Le Bataclan, a venue where Eagles of Death Metal were performing a sold-out show tonight. Video shows that the concert took place, so whether the band is among the hostages has yet to be announced, though reports indicate that shooting broke out during the concert. At least fifteen people have been killed at the venue.
Paris has apparently been hit hard by a series of terrorist attacks this evening, with police estimating up to 40 dead from multiple shootings that began near the venue. Le Bataclan is one of the venues targeted for these many attacks; explosions were also heard at the Stade de France north of Paris.
We’ll be following this story and let you know if there are any further developments.
