“Eyes Alive”: Turbid North are Back and More Turbid Than Ever
We here at MetalSucks loves us some Turbid North. Alas, it’s been more than three years since we’ve had reason to write about the Alaskan-by-way-of-Texas band. But by golly, we have a reason to write about ’em today! The band has announced that they’ll release a new album, Eyes Alive, on November 20 via their own newly-created label, The Pyramid… and they’ve released the title track from that album.
And that title track fucking rips, which will surprise only people who aren’t already familiar with Turbid North. I know this must sound weird, but: the song basically sounds like Crowbar and The Red Chord got drunk and fucked and birthed “Eyes Alive” as a result. Some it is really fast n’ grindy, some of it is really slow n’ elephants marchingy, all of it awesomey. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
Treat yourself to a listen of “Eyes Alive” below… you deserve it! You can pre-order the album here.
