King 810 Release New Video for the Same Song
I don’t mind that King 810’s shtick is being from Flint, MI, an extremely dangerous city. I don’t particularly care that they’re not really from Flint, though I think it’s funny; Hell, plenty of bands I like aren’t actually from Hell even though they say they are. And I’m not terribly irked by their tough guy bullshit.
But God, guys, write a different fucking song. Every King 810 song is the same thing — David Gunn growling a bunch of true crime nonsense that builds into a gang-mentality anthem about how they ARE Flint and everyone not from Flint should watch out. Every single song, the same goddamn thing. Even black metal bands write about different aspects of Satan — one song’s about the goat, one’s about the torture chamber, and so on. King 810 have slightly different lyrics for each song, but honestly you can’t tell one from the other.
The band just released their video for “Vendettas” via Metal Hammer, which you can watch below, but I’ll spoil it for you: there are bandanas over people’s mouths. The only thing that makes this song any different from all of King 810’s other stuff is the appearance of rapper Zuse, but he doesn’t really do that much in terms of shaking up the band’s style, just spits a verse before the song goes back to it’s usual declarative aanger. The worst is David Gun veeery calmly speaking the lyrics into the camera, to let everyone know what a cold, clinical killer he is. Fuck off.
Anyway, you can watch “Bandanas” “Vendettas” below. Let’s hope next time, King 810 write about, fuck, anything else.
