Metallica Make Beer Now
James Hetfield may be sober now — but that doesn’t mean you have to be!
Metallica are playing two shows in Quebec this week — the first one took place last night, September 14, and was the last-ever show at the Colisée Pepsi; the second one will take place tomorrow, September 16, and will be the first-ever show at the Centre Vidéotron. And according to Metal Injection, the band will “commemorate their two shows… [by] giving out free cans of Metallica-branded Budweiser beer, brewed in Canada by Labatt.” Only 91,000 of these custom cans will be made in total, which means that about 90,000 fans are gonna get a cool souvenir from the gig, and about 1,000 fans are about to make some pocket change on eBay.
The only thing I don’t get about this promotion is why the cans are black when they have lightning bolts on them. Shouldn’t they either be blue or otherwise black with a faded grey snake instead of the lightning bolts?
