Iron Maiden Announce First Dates of 2016 “The Book of Souls” World Tour
How many bands these days — metal or otherwise — go on true WORLD tours? The kind where the band hits just one or two cities in each country, playing the biggest stadiums or arenas there and jetting between dates in style.
In the metal world, at least, Iron Maiden are one of only a small handful of bands capable of it. Metallica, Black Sabbath… anyone else? Slipknot might be able to do it at this point. That might be it.
Maiden have just announced the first leg of dates of their 2016 world tour in support of new album The Book of Souls (read our official review) — using their custom, recently re-skinned Ed Force One jet as transportation — and the band has promised that more will be announced soon. While they’re over in the South Pacific I can’t imagine they won’t wing up to Asia, and after that who knows… I’m sure Europe, North America and South America won’t be too far off. Dates so far:
04/29 Christchurch, NZ – Horncastle Arena
05/01 Auckland, NZ – Vector Arena
05/04 Boondall, AUS – Brisbane Entertainment Centre
05/06 Sydney, AUS – Allphones arena

05/12 Hindmarsh, AUS – Adelaide Entertainment Centre
