Exclusive Track Premiere: Temple of Void, “Exanimate Gaze”
Temple of Void‘s blend of death metal and doom is one we don’t hear nearly often enough these days, or at least one that isn’t done the way it’s meant to be done nearly often enough.
It’s as if the Detroit quintet summoned the death metal-infused doom of Hooded Menace and old Paradise Lost and added to it a sense of aching and melancholy that’s reminiscent of another sub-sect of the death/doom scene, the Insomniums and Swallow the Suns of the world, with just a touch of sludge. It’s the perfect combination, one that instantly invokes feelings of pain, suffering and outright nastiness. This is the kind of music that’s perfect for whatever bad mood you’re in, no matter the type or the cause.
