Ivan Moody’s Sister Has A Restraining Order Against Him
Yesterday, news broke that the wife of Five Finger Death Punch singer Ivan Moody, a woman named Holly Smith, was making claims of domestic violence against him and subsequently filing for divorce. Soon after, though, FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory tweeted that Ivan wasn’t even married and that the allegations are false.
Well, it’s a new day, and with it comes even more bad news. According to TMZ, Moody’s sister, Sandra Dykes, filed for a restraining order against him, claiming that when he drinks and does drugs he gets violent, and accuses his family–including his own daughter–of stealing his money. Dykes was granted the restraining order for her and her two daughters, and claims that Moody’s mother is filing one for her and her daughter.
Look, obviously the media should be questioned, especially professional dirt-diggers like TMZ (not us, though, we’re super-legit, OBEY). However, given the confusion and speculation caused by Bathory’s tweet, here are the facts as we know them in relation to this new story:
- Moody has past issues with drugs and alcohol. This is a recorded fact.
- Moody has a daughter and a sister. He has mentioned both in past interviews.
- The pattern of behavior being described by this newest report is in keeping with that of the previous one.
What I’m interested in at this point is a response from Ivan himself. A report like today’s just gets the snowball rolling faster, and it would be smart of him to get out in front of it before it’s a massive shitshow with a million different issues to address. One assumes his silence is him talking to people and getting his affairs in order before he comes out publicly.
