Ghost Vs. Pope Francis: The Battle Rages On
Ghost have been forced to re-schedule their show in Philadelphia next month from September 26 to September 28. Why the change? Does Papa Emeritus III need an additional forty-hours with his groupies? Are they waiting for Dave Grohl to fly in and take his place as one of the Namless Ghouls? Did they misread the date of the arrival of The Kraken as specified by The Satantic Anti-Bible?
Nope: the reason they have to reschedule the show, according to a press release, is because “due to Frankie’s visit next month in Philadelphia, we received a letter informing us that Ghost fans would not be able to use public transportation or park their cars next Union Transfer [where the show will take place].”
“Frankie,” in case you’re wondering, is Pope Francis.
The delay of the show is a bummer — I’m sure it will cause at least some fans who were planning to go to now have to miss the gig — but less of a bummer than a TON of people not being able to get to the concert because the Pope is in town. So, on the whole, I’d say Ghost are handling this just the right way… and with their characteristic wit, no less, as demonstrated by this video announcing the re-scheduling:
By the way, that’s the same old lady who was in the band’s video announcing their upcoming acoustic tour, too. I guess they just have her on call 24/7 to make clips for them.
ANYWAY, tickets for the 9/26 show will still be honored for the 9/28 show. All other upcoming Ghost tour dates can be found here.
I leave you with this, for no reason other than that I love it:
