Lamb of God’s “512” Video: Murder, Guilt, and Glee
I’ve just watched Lamb of God’s new video for “512” twice, and I still can’t follow the narrative. Some people find a dead girl’s body, and then we meet this dude who seems real sad and has blood on his face and is thinking of the dead girl, suggesting he killed her; but then they’re at some kind of house party memorial type thing, and a different dude grins and wipes blood on a photo of the dead girl, and everyone at the memorial loses their shit and kicks him out. Then, in the morning, the initial dude with blood on his face and some other guy kill the grinning fella who wiped blood on the photo. Also, there’s a freaky looking priest covered in soot.
Uh… okay.
But whatever, right? The song absolutely wrecks, and ultimately, what the video really proves is that Randy Blythe has charisma out the wazoo: one tight close-up of him is a thousand times more interesting than any muddled murder story.
Watch “512” below. Lamb of God’s new album, Sturm Und Drang, is out July 24.
