Clutch Engage in Psychic Warfare
Clutch’s new album will be called Psychic Warfare, vocalist Neil Fallon revealed during a recent interview with TeamRock Radio‘s Metal Hammer Magazine Show. And although you might guess that the title was a reference to the ability of Jewish mothers to make their offspring feel guilty even from miles and miles away (and sometimes from beyond the grave!), Fallon actually has a different explanation:
“‘Psychic warfare’ is a lyric from the first track, ‘X-Ray Visions’. It’s about a guy holed up in a motel for unexplained reasons, and he’s under great duress, being attacked by psychically-empowered agents of unknown origin. At least, that’s the back story I have in my head.”
Unfortunately, there’s no music available for public consumption just yet. But given that the album is tentatively due for release in September, and that the band recently played some new material for the press, it seems like a safe bet that we’ll hear some new Clutch sooner rather than later. Stoked!
