Clutch Are Playing New Material On Tour With Mastodon
I fucking love Clutch and their brand of bluesy psychedelic motorcycle muscle rock, but there’s always a worry that a band’s new material is going to fall flat or be self-plagiarizing.
Thankfully, this does not seem to be the case with Clutch’s upcoming new album Psychic Warfare. The PRP has footage of the band playing two new tracks at the Vancouver show of their current co-headlining tour with Mastodon, The Missing Link Tour. The songs are “Decapitation Blues” and “X-Ray Vision” (the latter of which is the song that the band was demoing in a hotel room in last week’s post), and both of them rule. The lyrics to “X-Ray Vision” are especially kickass.
Below is footage of the new material, as well as Clutch throatman Neil Fallon joining Mastodon onstage for “Blood and Thunder” (uuunnnnghhh).
Catch both bands on the Missing Link Tour, going on now. Psychic Warfare is due in September.
