Cradle of Filth’s Hammer of the Witches Has Boobs, Needs Fart Bubbles (NSFW)
Although I wasn’t previously familiar with him, Latvian artist Arthur Berzinsh seems to be a perfect fit for Cradle of Filth: like the British band, Berznish’s work aims to mix elegance with provocation that borders on the infantile. To wit — this is what happens when you Google Berznish:Yes, ’tis true: Arthur Berznish’s most famous work is a portrait of fart bubbles. But while that might lead you to believe that Bernzish’s work is Space Moose-style cartoon doodles, it’s actually done in the style of a gorgeous Baroque painting:
Alas, Berznish’s cover art for Cradle of Filth’s new album, Hammer of the Witches, contains no references to flatulence that I can discern. But it does have tittays:
Again, cool piece, but I mean, c’mon. It REALLY could have used some fart bubbles, don’t you think?
Hammer of the Witches will be out sometime in July on Nuclear Blast.
