Magrudergrind Sign with Relapse, Officially Announce New Album
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, this makes me so fuckin’ happy.
Following last week’s tease, Magrudergrind have now confirmed that they “recently completed recording their highly anticipated first new material in over five years” with producer/Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Kvelertak, Trap Them, Skeletonwitch, etc.). And not only that, but they’ve signed with Relapse Records, who will release the album sometime later this year.
Relapse is definitely the biggest label Magrudergrind have ever worked with (unless you count Scion A/V I guess, but I personally don’t), so hopefully the band’s glorious grind will reach an even larger audience than their past work has. And if not, eh, fuck the rest of the world. At least us true believers get a new Magrudergrind album!
The only other things we know about the group’s Relapse debut at this point is that Pig Destroyer’s Scott Hull is mastering it, and that the album art will be by Clint Nicolas. But if they’ve completed recording and announced the signing, it seems safe to assume that there will be plenty more news coming our way real soon.
Magrudergrind also promises “extensive touring” in support of the record, which should make you excited — these dudes DEMOLISH live.
More news as we get it…
