Video: Huntress Babe Jill Janus Fills In for Amon Amarth Babe Johan Hegg
Ain’t no party like an Amon Amarth party ’cause an Amon Amarth party don’t stop!!!
No, seriously: Amon Amarth once again proved that they are the mighty warriors they say they are by refusing to cancel a show in Plymouth, England this past Saturday night, despite the fact that front viking Johan Hegg was unable to perform due to a blown-out voice. Their solution? Reports Metal Insider…
“Amon Amarth played a primarily instrumental set, with [Jill Janus, vocalist for opening act Huntress] appearing as somewhat of an MC for the band’s set. She also sang on ‘Guardians of Asgaard.’ The band invited fans up to perform ‘Twilight of the Thunder God’ and ‘The Pursuit of Vikings,’ with Hegg joining the band with his Thor hammer, mouthing the words as the fans sang them.”
It’s always great to see a band go to such lengths to make sure their fans aren’t let down, and it looks like a very good time was had by all, despite the absence of Hegg’s voice.
Here’s video of the aforementioned, Janus-fronted “Guaradians of Asgaard” performance. Enjoy:
