Scott Stapp Wants Half a Million Dollars from Fans to Record a New Solo Album and Write a Novel
Today in comedy news: just days after posting (and then pulling) a video in which he claimed that the IRS froze his accounts and he was hacked and he’s living at a Holiday Inn, Creed vocalist Scott Stapp has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $480,000. The money will be used for… well, here, I’ll let Stapp tell you:
“Raising funds 4solo album #3. Using same team, Howard Bensen (Producer) & Chris Lord-Alge (Mix). At the same time, my first book in the fiction category. Need 2fund both projects”
Not so sure about the album, both because I’ve never been a Creed fan (and I didn’t even know he had two other solo records), and because I’ve heard that Howard Benson will only work with people who know how to spell his name correctly. But between Stapp’s obvious writing skills and the fact that the world is desperately awaiting the first narrative that can be read piecemeal via text message, I can’t see how anyone wouldn’t wanna read a novel authored by the vocalist. Fuck, if I had $500K to burn, I’d give it all to Stapp right now.
I wouldn’t even hesitate based on the fact that his wife (who he once tried to beat with a glass bottle) is divorcing him, citing Stapp’s addiction to meth and steroids as the cause of their failed relationship. I mean, anyone who saw that video last week can tell that Stapp is completely sober now. I think it’s pretty clear that giving Scott Stapp money is the safest bet since PayPaling Blake Judd.
