Dr. Matt Taylor, the Dude Who Put a Probe on the Comet, is a Cannibal Corpse Fan
Unless you’ve been living under a space rock for the past couple of days, you’ve already heard about the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft and Philae lander, a.k.a. “the probe scientists landed on a comet.” Calling it “an incredible achievement” would be an understatement.
So strike a victory for metal fans fighting the stereotype that all headbangers are idiots: Dr. Matt Taylor, a forty-year-old British scientist who is one of the leaders of the Rosetta mission, is a Cannibal Corpse fan! The screen cap at the top of this post, which shows Taylor proudly rocking a Butchered at Birth shirt, was taken from the below video of Taylor getting a tattoo to commemorate the mission:

So that’s awesome. Maybe for his next project, he can produce the first death metal show on the moon or something. I mean, they’ve already played Anthrax on Mars!
