Exclusive EP Stream: Eyes Wide Open by IAMFIRE, featuring Peter Dolving (ex-The Haunted)

In 2015, the delightfully mad Peter Dolving (Rosvo, The Haunted, MaryBeatsJane etc.) returns with his latest project, IAMFIRE. Also featuring bassist Mikael Ehlert (BloodEagle, Hatesphere), drummer Ulf Scott (L.O.C, Suspekt, Great Deciever, Tech9), and guitarist Peter Ahlers Ohlsen (MOB), the band made their live debut this year with appearances at Download, Copenhell, and Tons of Rock (to name but a few), and have now announced a January 2015 release for their limited-edition 10″, Eyes Wide Open.  French label Deadlight Entertainment will press 500 copies, and only 500 copies, of the 10″; pre-orders also come with a handprinted IAmFire t-shirt, designed by Peter Dolving exclusively for this package.

Of course, none of that would matter if IAMFIRE didn’t also kick serious ass… but they do! Eyes Wide Open is equal parts heavy, groovy, psychedelic and catchy, resulting in tracks which sound like some rad hybrid of Alice in Chains, Clutch, and Mastodon; it may only contain two songs, but both of those songs are fucking MONSTERS. The band will soon enter the studio to record a full-length, tentatively titled The Chariot and scheduled for a Spring 2015 release; assuming the rest of the group’s material as cool as the shit on Eyes Wide Open, we’re in for a serious treat.
