Video: Sock Puppets Take On Slayer on “Raining Bleach”
The geniuses at Sock Puppet Parodies are behind funny take-offs on Sex Pistols, Skrillex, and for some reason Static-X, but none of those is so hilarious as their latest: Stayner’s “Raining Bleach.” It’s worth a chuckle to imagine an alternate-dimension Slayer whose members are headbanging socks and whose doom foretold concerns a deluge of caustic chlorine and a rough turn in a laundry machine. (You see the parallels to Slayer’s death camp epics.) And it’s fun to spot “Raining Bleach”‘s ace vamps on Hanneman riffs.
But it’s most fun to mute “Raining Bleach” and sync audio from the actual “Raining Blood” (at about :30). That joke lasts way longer than the cleverness of “Raining Bleach,” this reduction of metal’s most intensely violent glowerers to floppy puppets. Click and awww below:
