New Slipknot Bassist’s Other Band Krokodil Announce New Song, Album and Tour
At this point it seems completely ridiculous that Slipknot are acting as if everyone doesn’t already know who their new bassist and drummer are. I guess they think they can score a bunch of press with their big “reveal”? Press that supposedly isn’t already covering the crap out of the new members and new record (ahem!)? Maybe they figure they’ll get more press in the meantime by continuing to “withhold” their new members identities? I don’t get it.
In any case, new Slipknot bassist Alessandro Venturella’s other band, Krokodil, has announced an upcoming record and tour, and they’ve released a new track to go with that announcement. Nowhere in the press release is the word “Slipknot” mentioned, which seems silly ’cause surely they’d get even more press that way, so presumably it’s Slipknot’s management that’s holding that up. But man, what perfect timing: Krokodil are going to benefit IMMENSELY from the Slipknot association! SikTh drummer Dan Foord and bassist James Leach are also in Krokodil, by the way.
Check out the track below. It’s more reminiscent of guitarist Laurent Barnard’s day job band Gallows than SikTh (or Slipknot, for that matter), but it’s really good. Nachash comes out on November 10th via Spinefarm. Pre-order here. For further listening, peep an older Krokodil song called “Shatter” here from a Rec0rd Store Day 7″ they released earlier this year.
