Amy Poehler: Metalhead?

Celebrities wearing metal shirts has kind of become the “it” thing. Rihanna wearing a Judas Priest shirt. Chris Brown (and Rihanna) wearing a Municipal Waste jacket. Lady Gaga wearing an Iron Maiden shirt. Kardashian sister Kendall Jenner wearing a Slayer t-shirt. And so on and so forth. But metal’s recent surge in celeb wearability begs the question: are these celebs, or are they not, genuinely into the bands whose wares they sport? And does it ultimately even matter one way or the other?

Add one more to the group, and finally someone we can genuinely get behind: comedian Amy Poehler. The former Saturday Night Live and current Parks and Recreation star has been spotted wearing Iron Maiden and Judas Priest t-shirts. A little Googling seems to indicate that both of these pictures are from at least as far back as 2007, meaning Poehler was not just a fashion pioneer leading the current trend of celebrities in metal clothing, but that she may actually even dig the music! Metalheads worldwide just sprouted a gigantic collective boner.
