Nachtmystium’s Blake Judd Once Again Under Fire from Fans for Allegedly Failing to Deliver Merch
Update, August 26, 11:11 a.m.: After publishing this article yesterday, a reader sent us an e-mail exchange he had with Century Media regarding this subject last Thursday, August 21. You can read that exchange below (click to enlarge):
Century Media’s position on this is perfectly reasonable. Unfortunately, the label still hasn’t responded to our request for verification that Jud has, indeed, received the product on his end.
Original post follows below.
It would appear that Blake Judd has once again angered fans who claim they paid the guitarist/vocalist for merchandise they never received — this time, to such an extent that some of them have gotten together and started a Facebook community to rail against the Nachtmystium mastermind.
The issue first came to MetalSucks’ attention following several reader e-mails on August 11. At that time, I personally reached out to Blake to ask him what was going on, and this is what he told me:
“I am simply waiting for Century Media to deliver my copies of the new album [The World We Left Behind] so I can send out the preorder bundles… I’ve posted about it repeatedly on our page. We did a preorder bundle for a signed CD or LP plus tshirt and patch package…. I have everything except the records, which I expect this week. When they arrive, everything goes out.”
Okay, fair enough. So Vince and I mutually opted to give Blake the benefit of the doubt and not write anything about the situation, which, clearly, would be resolved soon. A few days later, I left for vacation, thinking nothing of it.
So imagine my surprise when, upon returning from vacation — two weeks after the initial incident and three weeks after the album’s street date — MetalSucks was STILL receiving e-mails complaining about unfulfilled orders, and that the aforementioned anti-Judd Facebook page, Blakecrush, had noted the sudden disappearance of Nachtmystium’s Facebook page. That last bit of news seemed especially odd, since Judd recently declared that “I have decided not to end Nachtmystium.” Had the Nachtmystium Facebook page really been SO inundated with complaints that Judd had deleted it?
We’ve reached out to Century Media to ask if Judd has or has not received his copies of The World We Left Behind, but as of this writing, we have not received a response.
I would really, really like to believe Judd. We’re MASSIVE Nachtmystium fans here at MetalSucks, and I think I can safely say for everyone here that we’d like nothing more than for Judd to have broken old habits, to be, in this situation, just a victim of circumstance. This doesn’t look great, but I’m hoping against hope that’s the case. C’mon, Blake. Prove everyone wrong.
