Let’s All Argue About This Brand New Deafheaven Song

Here’s some new music from everyone’s favorite band to argue about, Deafheaven!

The band performed a new song called “From The Kettle Onto The Coil” at The Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 20th, and The PRP reports that the track will be released in August as part of Adult Swim’s free singles series. Check out pro-shot, HD footage of the band’s performance below.

The audio from this performance isn’t super-clear, but it’s enough to get an idea… and, basically, it sounds like Deafheaven. I imagine that if you like the band you’ll dig it, and if you think they were the worst thing to happen to metal until Babymetal came around then you’ll probably hate it. Personally, as someone who’s dug some Deafheaven material in the past but isn’t head-over-heels in love like some folks, I think the first half is a bit snoozy but it really picks up steam towards the end when things gets all epic and grandiose.
