These Guys Wrote a Metal Song Entirely in Binary Code
No longer are YouTube metal phenom Rob Scallon’s talents limited to hilarious covers of Slayer songs on the ukulele and the banjo: the dude has single-handedly cut down an entire generation of metal bands in one swift stroke with his new video, “Binary Metal.”
It’s exactly what it sounds like: a song consisting entirely of single notes played on the first fret and open low string, the patterns of which form a secret message that comprises the song’s lyrics. And just what are those lyrics? You’ll have to watch to find out.
All drums, bass and guitars were created or re-amped using Toontrack EZDrummer 2 and EZMix 2. Cameo by Rob’s cat was unscripted. No felines were harmed in the making of this video.
