Juicy Tour Rumor Alert: Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Carnifex, Revocation and Rivers of Nihil

If The PRP and Lambgoat are to believed — and why wouldn’t they? they’re always dead-on about these things — then there’s an incredibly juicy death metal tour in the works for later this spring.

Lambgoat reported the first three leaked dates below as featuring Whitechapel, Revocation and Rivers of Nihil. Whitechapel later confirmed that a national tour was in the works, and posted a second date at The International in Knoxville, TN via their Facebook:

5/14 St. Louis, MO @ Fubar
5/15 Kansas City, MO @ Czar Bar
6/7 Knoxville, TN @ The International
6/8 Knoxville, TN @ The International

DevilDriver and Carnifex haven’t been connected to any of the above shows yet, although Lambgoat says “we suspect that they soon will,” citing an earlier rumor from an undisclosed source linking all of the above bands.

If it is true, wow, what a sweet lineup! At first glance DevilDriver certainly seem like the odd band out in that they’re less overtly death metal than all of the other acts, but that’s exactly the kind of diversity on a tour bill that we love; things can get a bit boring when there’s too much of the same, ya know?
