This Friday! The Fourth Annual South by South Death Showcase, Featuring Animals as Leaders and More
The madness is upon us!! Thousands of music weirdos descend upon Austin, TX beginning today for a week of craziness, “Music Industry Spring Break” as Chuck and Godless called it on this week’s podcast. And we couldn’t be more excited.
On Friday, March 14, MetalSucks returns to DECIMATE South by Southwest with our fourth annual South by South Death showcase!!! We’ve always strived to bring capital-M metal to SXSW in a big, big way, in past years booking acts like High on Fire, Goatwhore, Kvelertak, and Red Fang… and this year is no different! We’ve lined up another real doozy of a bill for ya: instrumental icons Animals as Leaders will headline, with support coming from Sumeriancore OGs After the Burial, hardcore heavyweights Ringworm, not one by TWO supergroups in the form of Iron Reagan (featuring current and former members of Municipal Waste and Darkest Hour) and Mutoid Man (featuring members of Cave In and Converge), PLUS perennial MetalSucks faves Whores and East of the Wall. HOLY CRAP, what an amazing group of bands!!!
We’re confident that the fourth annual South by South Death is going to be THE most metal party at SXSW 2014! It all goes down Friday, Marcy 14 at 7 pm at The Dirty Dog. Admission is free to SXSW badge holders and wristband wearers, and a limited number of spots will be open to general public at the door day-of for a price TBD (between $10-$15 in years past). DO NOT MISS IT!!!
