Listen to a New Extol Song Right Now! (Plus: an Update on the Extol Documentary)
Extol’s 2013 self-titled affair was not only a triumphant return to form after many years away but one of my most favoritest records of the entire year. But wait, there’s more, our enjoyment doesn’t stop there! There’s a brand new Extol song called “Sting of Death” that the band is including on a deluxe reissue of Extol — available now on iTunes with previously unreleased artwork (above) — and you can stream it below in lyric video form. Dat guitar solo! Gorgeous.
The press release announcing the new track also comes with an update from Animidas Productions on the release of the Extol documentary film that’s been in the works for quite some time, including a tentative “end of 2014” DVD release date:
We’ve had our hands extremely full with post production and we’re now very close to a finished film!
Thanks to many of you, this project has become a journey we dared not hope for 3 years ago. We have just signed the first (of hopefully many) broadcasting deals for television and we have started submitting the film to film festivals all over the globe.
A DVD release is scheduled for the end of 2014, but we’ll make it worth the wait! The TV/festival version is 70 minutes long. The DVD will be a much longer extended version, and will contain epic bonus material from the band on a second disc!
Thank you so much for your patience and support. We´ll keep you posted on where and when the film is screened.
We anxiously await.
A couple of weeks ago we learned that Extol are plotting some live shows for the summer. Still no details on those, but you’ll know as soon as we do.
