It Would Appear That a New Slipknot Album is Drawing Ever-Closer

Stone Sour have announced that they’ll hit the road next month with Pop Evil and Stolen Babies in tow — but guitarist Jim Root won’t be there. Why not? Says Stone Sour’s page from The Book of Faces:

I don’t know how hardcore Stone Sour fans will take this news, but for us admirers of The ‘Knot, this is surely good news. When Slipknot lost Paul Gray, they lost one of their primary songwriters; as a result, they really have a lot to prove with this next album. Concentrating on the writing should be priority #1.
