Emperor Reuniting, Headlining Wacken 2014

Black metal fans, rejoice! According to Terrorizer, Emperor will reunite next year to headline Wacken, very possibly the foremost metal festival in the world.

While additionally shows haven’t been announced, it’s hard for me to imagine that this is gonna be a one-off thing — I’d wager we’ll soon be hearing about Emperor playing fests all across Europe, presumably to be followed by tours in other territories. I could be wrong about that, I suppose, but… I dunno, that’s how these usually go these days, ain’t it?

The show(s) won’t be Empror’s first since disbanding in 2001 — they reunited for live performances as recently as 2007 — but this is still terrific news. No one’s ever gonna complain about a cool band getting back together, y’know?
