Community Discussion: Carcass’ New Song, “Captive Bolt Pistol”

Over the weekend, a new Carcass Song, “Captive Bolt Pistol,” found its way out into the world; as it turns out, the track is due to appear on Hell is Here, a sampler from the promoters of the Party.San Metal Open Air festival, and someone got really excited (understandable) and uploaded the track to YouTube. It’s since been yanked down, so, alas, if you didn’t get to hear over the weekend, you’re gonna hafta be a little more patient.

The silver lining is that the song will kick your ass so hard it’ll leave a boot mark on your grandmother’s ass. “Captive Bolt Pistol” starts out fast n’ thrashy before exploding into a chorus of blast beats and a choir of demonic screams; it also features multiple solos by Bill Steer, the last of which is the aural equivalent of a giant mutant centipede charging forward and annihilating everything in its path. In other words: if anyone was worried about Carcass recapturing that old black magic, well, worry no more!
