Last Chance to Reason, Reborn

In my not-so-humble opinon, Last Chance to Reason’s new album, Level Three, is also their best album, in every way. It sounds top notch, and the band stepped up their songwriting big time; the result is an album that’s thoroughly listenable while still maintaing all the prog elements fans love. It’s one of my favorite albums of the year so far.

Hopefully, between last week’s release of the new song “The Escapist” and just the fact that LCTR have already been generally awesome to date, you’re already stoked for Level 3, but if for some reason you’re not… well, hopefully this new new song, “Rebirth,” will sway you. I mean, right from the moment the riff kicks in at the beginning, it’s a winner. From there, it turns into a delightfully odd hybrid of Opeth and A Perfect Circle. And the guitar solo? HOLY SHIT, man. So rad. Check it out:

Level 3 comes out August 6 on Prosthetic Records. The band begins a MetalSucks-sponsored tour with Evan Brewer on July 25; dates are below.
