It Would Take a Truly “Heroic Dose” of Opiates to Make Me Enjoy the New Newsted Song

Because his EP, the cleverly titled Metal, wasn’t painful enough, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted will release a full-length, the cleverlyer titled Heavy Metal Music, on August 6. You can listen to the first single, “Heroic Dose,” below. But you probably shouldn’t listen to it when driving or operating heavy machinery, because it could have been called “Heroic Dose of NyQuil.” IT’S SO FUCKING GENERIC AND BORING. I’m starting to think that maybe Newsted wrote the Load albums all by himself.
