Sixth Grade Girls Interview The Dillinger Escape Plan and Clutch

The website Kids Interview Bands is exactly what it sounds like: two sixth graders from Columbus, OH, Olivia and Connie, go around, y’know. Interviewing bands. To date, it would seem that they’ve only done two-metal related interviews — one with Clutch’s Neil Fallon, and one with The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman — but both of those interviews are pretty priceless. As are the written introductions for said interviews:

NEIL FALLON

Olivia: I had to do this interview by myself because Connie was stuck in an airport in New Jersey. My dad played a video for me (“Electric Worry”) and my little sister and the part that goes “Bang Bang Bang / Vamonos Vamonos” got stuck in our heads. Neil’s beard reminded me of Reverend Peyton’s and my dad said Reverend Peyton and Clutch have played concerts together. That’s cool!

BEN WEINMAN

Olivia: We try to listen to every band we are going to interview before we interview them. My dad wouldn’t let us watch a video by the Dillinger Escape Plan. He said it was too bloody!

Connie: This music is kind of noisy and scary.

Olivia: But Ben was really funny.

Connie: Yeah. And they had a dog on the tour bus with them that they brought out before we did the interview. We wanted to interview the dog!

They wanted to interview the dog.

My job may be in danger here.
