Kylesa: Drowning in “Quicksand”
“Quicksand” is an interesting name for the new Kylesa single. Because there’s nothing quick about it. Come to think of it, whatever effect that is over the guitar — and I really like it — it’s gives the whole thing a smooth feel that is decidedly not sandy. The track should really be called “Slowvelvet.” I mean there’s a lyric about “choking on my blood,” which I admit doesn’t sound very luxurious, but even “Leisurelycoma” would have been a more accurate title.
ANYWAY, I really, really like this song, and I’m not usually much for Kylesa. Take that for what it’s worth.
Listen to “Quicksand” here. Kylesa’s new album, Ultraviolet, comes out May 28 on Season of Mist.
