H.I.M.’s “Lips Go Blue”
Save for the wah-heavy guitar solo, I really, really do not like H.I.M.’s new single, “All Lips Go Blue.” But — and I know this a cop-out for a blogger — I really can’t quite figure out why I don’t like it. I suspect this may be a case of Poisonitis — a band you liked when I was younger and you just outgrew eventually. It also may just be that I’m over the romanticization of death and hearts torn asunder by the sands of time and blah blah blah. I’m gonna make a point of listening to Love Metal later today to see how I feel about it. In the meantime, I invite you to check out the song yourself and see what you think. Maybe one of you can articulate what I’m feeling in the comments section below. “You’ve got shit brains” is not a helpful answer, BTW.
